We accept various types of paint, lightbulbs, and batteries for recycling at the Customer Service desk. Here’s what you need to know.
Batteries
We recycle two types of batteries:
• Lead acid batteries, like those used in riding mowers or power tools.
•Small rechargeable batteries, used in portable devices such as cordless drills and cellphones.
Single-use alkaline batteries cannot be recycled.
Fluorescent Tubes & Lightbulbs
We also accept fluorescent tubes and lightbulbs from households for recycling. Fluorescent tubes must be 4 feet long or shorter. We cannot recycle ballasts or lights from commercial businesses or organizations.
Paints, Stains, and Varnishes
Jerry’s participates in the Oregon PaintCare Program. Recycle your latex or oil-based house paint, stains and varnishes up to 5 gallons in size—with a 15 gallon limit per visit.
Containers must be in good condition and have their original labels. Containers cannot be leaking or empty
We do not accept aerosols (spray paint or other spray products) for recycling.
Jerry's accepts any of the paints, stains, varnishes, or other products on the Accepted Paint Products list.
Accepted Paint Products:
• Interior and Exterior Paints: Latex (water-based), Acrylic, Alkyd (oil-based) and Enamel (all types of finishes and sheens, including textured coatings)
• Deck Coatings and Floor Paints (including elastomeric)
• Lacquers, Lacquer Sanding Sealers and Lacquer Stains
• Melamine, Metal, and Rust Preventatives
• Primers, Undercoatings and Sealers
• Stains and Shellacs
• Swimming Pool Paints (single component)
• Varnishes and Urethanes (single component)
• Waterproofing, Sealers and Repellents: Concrete, Masonry and Wood (no tar or bitumen-based)
• Wood Coatings (containing no pesticides)
